  1. I am a subscriber, a writer, a counselor and a mom.My name is Giorgina Liguori and I would love to write for your publication. I am a professional writer: three books on Amazon (one of which is Creating the Creative Child. 365 Creative things to do with children AND THEY ARE REALLY DIFFERENT AND CREATIVE. In New York I wrote and produced television commercials and made-for-TV movies.

I have written and had published hundreds of magazine articles. In April, I had the feature article in Grand Magazine about one of my grandchildren who is on the autism spectrum and what that means; how it was discovered, the day to day struggle and the prognosis. (How can you best help as a grandparent?) It was written with warmth, encouragement, but totally real and useful.

Aside from my work as a writer, I am also a counselor and therapist with two graduate degrees in psychology and counseling. I run parenting groups and women’s groups. I am the mother of four children (one of whom was dyslexic and one who is super-gifted (probably the biggest challenge) and five grandchildren.

I am certified as a teacher and guidance counselor in New York and in Florida and have taught for 18 years and worked as a counselor for five of those years.

I also do public speaking on parenting issues. One of the most important: Healthy Selfishness (most appropriate for young mothers,) and I have a radio show I recently did on that topic. Cool and Calm Parenting (what works and what does not work) Why Spanking is Always Wrong (you are not teaching what you think you are teaching.) AND why it is important to teach children to cook. Perhaps the most important issue: ethics. Your children really do watch everything you do; how to be a good role model. I am a natural story-teller and infuse my articles with facts, but also with humanistic anecdotes that people relate to and remember.

You can learn more about me as a counselor at (Pretty cool video.)

I write well. I am smart (Mensa card in my wallet and NYC street smarts – downtown girl.) But I have lived in Italy, Morocco, Florida and the furthest from home a rural mountaintop in North Carolina. I think I can relate to women and parents of all ages and all backgrounds.

    Thank you for listening.
